140 Years of Achievements When Gerard Adriaan Heineken made clear his intention to purchase the Haystack brewery in Amsterdam in 1863, he had big plans for the future. From that moment on the brand has been on a journey of innovation and success. In 1886 the famous Heineken® A-Yeast was cultivated. The beer has since been honoured with multiple awards. International growth began in Brussels in 1927. Today you can find the renowned logo with the smiling 'e' in over 100 markets. Heineken® has become the most valuable international premium beer brand, a testament to 140 years of passion and dedication. Five thousand Heineken® bottles were used to create an interactive design feature at the old brewery in Amsterdam Historic visuals and submissions for an iconic Heineken® bottle of the future can be found at www.yourfuturebottie.com During 2013, Heineken® will be putting hundreds of historic visuals of its evolution since 1873 online at its interactive design hub, www.yourfuturebottle.com. Designers are invited to take at least one element from the past and remix it into a unique, iconic Heineken® bottle of the future. Entries will be displayed in the online gallery, and the winning designer will see their bottle launched in December 2013 in an exclusive gift box designed by digital design pioneer, Joshua Davis.
