To mark the Millennium celebrations of 2000, Heineken
for the first time released the stylish Magnum and
Jeroboam bottles - the 1.5 litre and 3 litre champagne-
style bottles that are perfect for that very special
occasion.
Heineken again rolled out these premium off-
premise bottles with a contemporary new design during
the 2006 festive season. These new "Celebration"
bottles, decorated with green firework bursts, were
sold in 71 countries around the world, including Russia,
the Netherlands and Canada.
Heineken has also released a special premium
Jeroboam bottle for high-end horeca outlets in
countries such as Italy and the USA. In Italy, special
3-litre Jeroboams are now being sold in around 400
high-end outlets such as premium bars and night clubs.
The bottle comes with matching branded glasses and a
premium Heineken bucket of ice.
"When we talk about bottles like the Magnum and
Jeroboam, it's about more than 'just' selling volumes,"
says Mark van Iterson, Heineken Brand Design Manager.
"It's also about strengthening the presence of the
Heineken brand in very special occasions, such as
Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations. Heineken
deserves a place in these more exclusive, premium
occasions."
Since its initial
launch in 2005,
Heineken's David
draught beer system has been well received by Irish beer
drinkers, with more than 700 systems now in operation in
bars, pubs and restaurants across the country.
In order to boost the David's popularity in the restaurant
sector, Heineken Ireland has developed a unique beer glass
design - the prestigious David glass.
"Tall, delicate and elegantly slim, these special beer glasses
reflect the brand's premium qualities and have played an
important role in positioning the Heineken brand alongside
alternative beverages and other speciality beers," says
Declan Farmer, Corporate Affairs Manager at Heineken
Ireland. "At the same time, we have developed a premium
paper coaster which will enhance the presentation of
Heineken draught in Irish restaurants."
