NUMBER ONE-THE BEER
OF THE SOUTH SEAS
PILSENER BEER
Summer 2006
FAME
Number One is a blond beer brewed by Grande Brasserie de
Nouvelle-Calédonie since 1972. With a market share of 70
per cent, Number One is the most popular beer in New
Caledonia.
Blond beers are brewed with pale malt and no specialty
malts; this results in a beer with a very light colour. Brewed
from naturally selected ingredients, Number One is a top-
quality beer, winning the Gold Medal at the Monde Selection
contest in Belgium in 1993.
With a light, fresh taste adapted to the warm, tropical
climate of New Caledonia, Number One is synonymous with
sharing and fun. No wonder it is literally the premier beer of
this tropical island in the South Pacific.
part of the Greek heritage. Unique to ALFA is its bottle, in a traditional shape
