"Big names, nice people"
There are Found@Thirst winners all around the world. Local DJ talents who were discovered
during Found@Thirst events and invited to perform at the Thirst Sessions, where the big
names of dance music take the stage: Paul Oakenfield, DJ Tiësto and Pete Tong.
Found@Thirst winner Andrew Padula from Australia thought it was 'a major buzz' to meet
the world's leading DJs. "The guys were just too cool for skool. Very professional, respectful,
approachable, really down to earth. It is refreshing to know that the best in the world are
actually nice people as well. It was one of the most positive experiences I've had".
PJay from Portugal hopes that winning Found@Thirst will help him build a career as a
professional DJ. "I hope that I can play as much as I can, continue with my school education
by completing my sound technician degree, make everybody dance, have fun and of course
have the chance to go to the studio and produce my own records".
Irish winner Robbie James has fond memories of his performance
at the Thirst event in Malaysia. "Did loads of interviews and
thoroughly enjoyed myself!"
For Irish DJ Mandy Darcy, a.k.a. Miss Motif, things went full speed
ahead thanks to Thirst. She had struggled to play gigs in local pubs
around her home town in County Cork. But a few months later
she was appearing regularly with Paul Oakenfield, had her own
top ten record, together with Italian producer Danielle Davoli, and i r^7T|i
she now performs throughout the world as a Thirst headline DJ. ll A "-vl
