The search for local talent will be maintained but will now be extended by adding regional contests. There will be four regional contests: Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa. The finalists from the local Thirst contests will therefore take part in the regional competitions. The four winners from the regions will ultimately face off against each other in a global contest for the title of the world's best new talent. A professional jury, consisting of top DJs and people from the music industry, will then decide who is the world's most talented new DJ. Thanks to these new impulses Thirst is evolving into an even broader event that will link up even more closely to the target group. Freek de Wette and Linda Berkel look to the future of Thirst with confidence and feel that it is bound to increase the relevance of Heineken for this group of young adults even further. And that, after all, is the ultimate aim of the whole exercise. PAGE 24
