THE WORLD OF HEINEKEN
It's around 10 p.m. when the pubs in Ireland start to fill up and
get really lively. You find yourself surrounded by talk, laughter
and singing. People gather together in what is sometimes
jokingly referred to as the Irish living room. The pub is all about
sociability, hospitality, friendliness and above all craic, the Irish
word for fun. That same craic is also clearly visible within
Heineken Ireland.
Working for a successful organisation like Heineken Ireland - one
that has shown healthy year on year market share growth over
the past decade - is clearly good for morale. Indeed, despite a
temporary dip in the market, as in 2003, Heineken Ireland was
able to boost its market share in a declining beer market.
The success of Heineken Ireland in 2003 is due to a combination
of factors. General manager Nico Vervelde explains:

customer relations, excellent product quality and the performance
of the sales force."
