More than three hundred people attended the festive opening of
the new maithouse in Hurbanovo, Slovakia. With its production
capacity of 130 tons of malt per year, the maithouse immediately
became one of the leaders among European malt producers.
The new maithouse was opened in Hurbanovo, Slovakia at the
end of last year. Climatic conditions, a skilled workforce and an
established infrastructure were reasons to start building the
maithouse at the end of 2000. The festive programme was full of
attractions and all employees were dressed in period costumes
presenting the historical development of malt production in
Slovakia by using original tools and methods from 18th and 19th
century. The contrast between this historical way of malt
processing and modern technologies became even more notice
able for visitors during the excursion around the maithouse
