The world media have not
yet really focused their
attention on the subject, so
for the moment there's still
radio silence. But the 2000
Olympic Games in the
Australian city of Sydney
are moving closer all the
time. All those directly
involved have been busy
making preparations for
quite some time. So has
Heineken, which will be cre
ating the Holland Heineken
House, a meeting place for
Dutch athletes, fans and
business relations.
HOLLAND HEINEKEN HOUSE AT
OLYMPICS 2000 IN SYDNEY
R
lght in the centre of Sydney is
rling Harbour, where the Maritime
Museum is located. Next to that
museum Heineken has reserved
space to build the Holland Heineken
House: two storeys of rooms and hos
pitality areas for visitors and also
facilities for the Dutch sports press.
Heineken expects to receive some
two thousand guests every evening
during the Olympic Games.
During the 1996 Olympics in
Atlanta there had also been a
Heineken Holland House. On the
basis of the experiences in 1996 it
was decided that for the Winter
Olympics in Nagano a separate room
would be created for the athletes and
their families. In Sydney that tradi
tion will be maintained. In total
some sixty people will work in the
Holland Heineken House. All of them
will receive special training in the
areas of beer, hospitality and
Heineken.
