Former tennis ace John
McEnroe is making more and
more of a name for himself
as an artist. He also produces
works for Heineken USA, as
for the past three years
McEnroe has designed the
artwork for a limited edition
of T-shirts. These shirts are
issued by Heineken USA on
the occasion of the US Open
Grand Slam tournament that
is held at the beginning of
September each year.
Heineken was again the
main sponsor of this year's
event.
McEnroe was previously
known for playing tennis
with feeling and sensitivity.
In recent years he has been
wielding his brush just like
he did his racket. For this
year's T-shirt he produced
his own interpretation of the
New York skyline with fami
liar buildings such as the
Empire State Building and
the TWin Towers. The green
Heineken bottle features in
the foreground.
The T-shirt has been produ
ced in a limited-number edi
tion and is offered for sale to
tennis fans in the USA. At
the same time Heineken USA
is supporting the John
McEnroe Foundation, an
organisation set up by
McEnroe to provide financial
support to charitable causes
in all parts of the country.
