John McEnroe not only has fantastic
talent with a tennis racket. He is also
a creditable guitarist and knows how
to use a paintbrush. To mark the
occasion of the US Open, early in
September, he set to work at his
easel in his art gallery in Greenwich
Village, New York, and created a
work of art which was printed on a
special Heineken US Open T-shirt.
This limited-edition T-shirt was dis
tributed in the on trade and off trade
prior to and during the US Open.
McEnroe designed and painted his
own interpretation of the Heineken
star and then personally autograph
ed several shirts (right).
