FUTURE The future for Heinro is still a matter of crystal ball gazing, feels Dan Vlasceanu. "It is difficult to map out a strategy for the years ahead because the government is making so many changes. We're also facing a trade deficit, which means that hard currency is in short supply. In the autumn there will be new elections in Romania. What will the new government look like? What sort of measures will they take? Government policy with regard to imported products and excise duties remains a serious threat for us, one that may determine the future dimensions of Heinro. If taxes climb even further, we will be forced to carry on as a small company with three people and to supply beer to a very select group of customers." "On the other hand we realise that we as Heinro have enormous chances, as we have the Heineken mandate for Romania. Thanks to Heineken, we can work on building Heinro's future and making the business into a highly respected distribution company." Let's drink to that. Cheers! Noroc! 21
