Amstel in Kampuchea
Touchdown in
Heineken brewery
As an addition to the range
(Heineken was already available)
Amstel heer has been introduced in
Kampuchea. Since the successful
peace negotiations and the elections
that followed, restrictions on trade
with that country have been abol
ished. Demand for consumer goods is
growing and Heineken felt that the
time was ripe to introduce a new
brand which is not yet known in Asia.
The photo shows one of the many
little restaurants in which Amstel beer
is sold.
A famous brewery receives many
tens of thousands of visitors a year
and sometimes those guests are
famous, too. Like last year's visit by
the three best American Football play
ers, Jim Fahnhorst (linebacker and
holder of the Super Bowl Ring), Leslie
O'Neal (linebacker) and Scott Camp
bell (quarterback).
As guests of the US army com
mand the three gridiron players and
their wives were on a visit to Germany
and the Netherlands and, via the
mediation of Heineken Export Duty
Free, they also paid a visit to the brew
ery in Den Bosch.
Extreme left on the photo: Jim
Fahnhorst, next to him Leslie O'Neal
and, second from right, Scott Camp
bell. Pictured far right is Willem van
Meris of Heineken Export Duty Free.
