Tufts University in Boston dreamed up
"the best" costume for the annual Hal
loween Party.a six pack. "Faced with
the decision of what brand to represent,
naturally, we chose 'the best', Heineken.
We worked for days, pooling our crea
tive talents and our work resulted in win
ning first prize."

A Hit At Hilton Head
During October, two great sporting
events took place on a beautiful island
off South Carolinathe Hilton Head
World's Couples Tennis Tournament
and the Hilton Head Senior's Golf Tour
nament. Of course, Heineken was part
of both with a lot of action including an
advertisement in the Golf Tournament
Program, Heineken product at the V.I.P.
tent, Press Room and Locker Room,
plus P.O.S. for Heineken and Heineken
banners. All terrific for additional sales. If

Once a year the Jane Street Association
in New York City has a weekend fund
raising party in the heart of Greenwich
Village. This year it celebrated the Bicen
tennial of Netherlands-American friend
ship. Of course, the favorite beverages
were Heineken and Amstel. Because of
the decorative efforts of George Kahl,
VMCO New York Metro Manager, and
VMCO Reps Jim McDermott and
Bernard Glicksman, the whole street be
came Heineken Street! Giant Heineken
banners, Heineken umbrellas and
P.O.S. were everywhere.
Distinguished visitors at a private lunch
eon during the weekend included
H.R.H. Princess Christina of the Nether
lands, the Hon. Wim Polak, Mayor of
Amsterdam and Mayor Koch of N.Y.C.

tival attracted major media coverage. TV
Channels 4 and 7 newscasts had camera
coverage that zoomed in on Heineken
and Amstel bottlesthe exclusive beers
served during the Festival.
HAPPINESS is a Heineken Night. This
obviously happy couple at the Holiday Inn,
Hyannis, Mass., won a Heineken can and
an Amstel T-shirtand had a lovely
evening.

mester at The Brewery in New Haven,
Conn.right in the heart of Yale
University.
A HEINEKEN OPEN golf tournament was
held at the Oxford, Mass., Country Club
with a dinner afterward at Gilrein's Res
taurant in Worcester, Mass. Heineken was
available on the course and, naturally,
Heineken and Amstel at the dinner.
Highpoint, at the dinner, was the presenta
tion of the trophy which featured a Heine-
ken can on top: left to right, Mike
Fitzpatrick, Gilrein's owner, Fran Scales,
low net winner, Frank Mullen, VMCO Rep
and Don Smith, United Liquor Salesman.
