WHEN you read this issuewe will
have finished the second quarter
of our fiscal year, 1959.
As had heen anticipated, the na
tional sales of Heineken's have more
than come up to our expectations. As
a matter of factI am very proud to
announce that for the first time in
Heineken's history in the United
States, the month of May not only
exceeded the 100,000 case sale figure,
hut May 1959 has brought us the larg
est sales volume of any month ever!
Whereas the month of April showed
a sales increase of approximately 30
over April 1958, May has produced a
sales increase of 33% over May 1958
If this trend continues, we feel con
fident that we shall reach the one
million case figure for 1959.
This is indeed a very proud ac
complishment and I think our entire
organization, as well as that of all our
distributors from Coast to Coast, from
North to South, have contributed to
this tremendous success.
You will read in this issue further
details about an additional piece of
point-of-sale materialthe new Heine-
ken's "salesman" in retail outlets.
Then, there is also the new Heine-
ken's fluorescent sign which will find
many good spots, spreading further
good cheer for Heineken's Beer.
With the tremendous Heineken's
advertising program now in full
swing, I am urging every one of you
to take fullest advantage of the ever
growing popularity of the brand
name, Heineken's. I may conclude this
message by reminding you to "keep
punching for Van Munching
Cordially yours,

After many months of research, we are now ready to ship this attractive
corrugated floor display that is sturdy and easy to install. When fully packed,
this display will contain 4i/2 cases of six-packs plus 6 loose bottles at the top.
It is printed in green, red and black on bleached white corrugated board.
The design, as you can see, is made up of familiar elements: At the top
is the popular Heineken's wooden shoe with room for prices. Behind the
stacking of six packs, we have reproduced the six pack design so that as
the merchandise is removed, the design will always be repeated.
The sides of this display are solid red with black and white printing. There
is a special pocket that can be affixed on either side of the display, to hold our
masterpiece folders or other free literature.
This display is particularly designed to move greater amounts of Heine
ken's six packs, but also caters to the 1 or 2-bottle buyers who can help them
selves to the loose bottles in the top rack. No tools are needed to install the
display. It comes packed 10 to a carton with complete instructions and is
quickly assembled.
