BEERWICH
For that late snack, "Beerwich" is pre
pared similar to French toast with the ex
ception that Heineken's Beer is substituted
for the milk in the batter and frizzled ham
and cheese is placed between the slices of

The "Beerwich" is made as follows:

Worcestershire Sauce, 2 drops Tabasco
Sauce, dash of salt and pepper, beat mixture.
Frizzle ham (amount according to prefer
ence) Dip two slices of bread in batter and
fry lightly on one side and turn,
Place two slices Swiss cheese or cheddar
cheese and frizzled ham on one slice of toast.
Spread mustard and place second slice over
cheese. Continue frying, turning, until both
sides of sandwich are nicely browned and
crisp. Serve hoi with relishes and Hemeken s.
BEERBURGER
Mix 2 pounds of ground beef with 1 table
spoon grated onion, 1 teaspoon salt, and Yi
teaspoon pepper. Shape into six thick pat

heavy skillet and brown the patties on both
sides. While they're browning, mix well the
following sauceYi CUP each of Heineken s

sugar, and Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon
salt and Ys teaspoon pepper. When the pat
ties are brown, pour the sauce over them and

ready for the table, slice French bread at an
angle into thin oval pieces. Butter on one
side and toast slightly. Place the 'burgers on
the bread and ladle the remaining sauce over
them. Serve six.
Note: One point to remember in cooking
with beer: it should be still, and not bubbling,
when it is added to the other ingredients.
The U. S. Brewers Foundation recommends
that the beer should be opened fifteen min-
uts before you are ready to cook with it.
