BRUSSEL
In ons vorig nummer wijdden wij een afscheids
woord aan de paarden van de White Star-brouwerij
in Brussel. Bovenstaande foto, die „de laatste gang"
van het oude gerij uitbeeldt, geeft een karakteristiek
beeld van biervervoer, zoals het vele jaren in Brus
sel geschiedde. Gebrek aan plaatsruimte belette opne
ming van deze foto in ons vorig nummer.
LAGOS
De heer Scotland, het hoofd van de afdeling ver
koop en reclame van de Nigerian Brewery te Lagos,
heeft de woorden voor een calypso bij eengedicht
waarin de lof wordt bezongen van het „Star" bier dat
door onze brouwerij te Lagos met zoveel succes in
Nigeria wordt verkocht. De calypso is een combinatie
van zang en dans die zeer populair is in inheemse
kringen in West-Afrika en Zuid-Amerika. De calyp
so van de heer Scotland heeft zoveel succes gehad
dat deze op gramofoonplaten zal worden opgenomen.
Voor degenen onzer lezers die de Engelse taal ver
