Heineken realised an organic net profit growth of 18 per cent in 2009, driven by higher revenue per hectolitres
and cost reduction. The consolidated beer volume has decreased due to the global economic downturn.
Revenue increased by 2.7 per cent from EUR 14.3 billion to EUR 14.7 billion and decreased organically by
12 per cent. Consolidated beer volume was 0.5 per cent lower at 125.2 million hectolitres in 2009, despite the I
mtribution of first-time consolidations in 2008 (mainly Scottish Newcastle, Beamish Crawford and Eichhof
averages). Organically, consolidated beer volume was 5.4 per cent lower due to the economic environment
nd excise duty increases. Heineken volume in the premium segment decreased by 0.8 million hectolitre to
3.1 million hectolitres in 2009 (a decrease of 3.1 per cent of which 2.9 per cent organically).
