Zagorka Warehouse, Bulgaria Energy Consumption Greenhouse Gas Snapshot Pride at the opening ceremony for the new Zagorka Warehouse certifications and standards to make sure we're doing the right things and that these will reduce energy consumption." The warehouse took almost two years to complete, covering an area of 3,000 square metres. Improved Insulation A number of insulation design improvements, including for walls and warehouse floors, help reduce energy consumption. The 'greenprint' for the new Zagorka Warehouse Building Management System The warehouse is equipped with a Building Management System which automatically controls a number of building systems, including lighting, ventilation and fire alarms. This allows energy consumption to be minimised while still providing optimal working conditions for people using the facility. Lighting There are no light switches in the Zagorka warehouse. Lighting is automatically controlled by motion and light intensity sensors. Additionally, all sources of artificial light use LED technology. Natural Cooling At night, special skylights allow cold air from outside into the building for natural cooling. Rainwater Recycling An integrated system collects and recycles rainwater, for use in the office restrooms and for sanitation of the storage area. Green Wall A green wall of privet has been planted around the warehouse to capture dust, improving efficiency.
