In August, the Heineken Experience in
Amsterdam witnessed its first marriage
proposal when John Holland, a dedicated
Heineken® fan from Ireland, proposed to his
girlfriend in the Brew Room. Together with the
Heineken Experience team, John put together a
cover story and organised for the couple to 'win'
a special tour, supported by a photographer to
capture the big moment. 'Will you marry me?' was
written on a uniquely designed Heineken® bottle.

During KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' Dutch
heritage month in October, passengers
who order a Heineken® during their
flight will also get to experience a bit
of history. In partnership with KLM,
Heineken® has turned back the clock
and launched a unique special-edition
can featuring the brand's original
label from 1873. One thing, however,
remains exactly the same - the original
premium recipe.

On 31 July, the HEINEKEN Ideas Brewery launched their
second Open Innovation Challenge. It calls on creative minds
and fresh ideas to: 'Reinvent the draught-beer experience'. HEINEKEN
sees potential in technological advances and developments in the
entertainment industry for creating an exciting new era in draught
beer. The winners will be announced in November and will receive the
opportunity to take part in a two-day workshop in Amsterdam and win a
share of the $10,000 prize money.
