In March this year, Heineken® was launched in Mexico. The brand will
be showcased using a print campaign in up-market magazines and outdoor
advertising at premium locations that capture both the cosmopolitan
nature and international heritage of the brand. This will be amplified by
consumer activations that build on the brand's sponsorship of the UEFA
Champions League.
John Nicolson, Regional President, Americas, commented: "The premium
segment is currently a relatively small and underdeveloped part of the
Mexican beer market, but it is growing fast as popularity for premium brands
among consumers continues to increase. This is an exciting development for
our business which, together with our established distribution network and
portfolio of other leading international and local brands, creates a strong
platform for future growth in the region."
Earlier this year, the new innovative Heineken Bar and
Duty-Free Store was unveiled at the recently upgraded
Lynden Pindling International Airport US Departures
Terminal, the Bahamas. The Heineken Bar is the first of its
kind in the Caribbean region and sets a new standard for
travel retail in the Bahamas. Based on consumer trends,
travellers prefer shopping or browsing in branded outlets.
The Heineken Bar and Duty-Free Store will leverage the
international appeal of the Heineken brand to connect
with today's traveller.
Global
This year, together with around 50 other high-profile companies,
Heineken has been invited to participate in the United Nations Global
Compact LEAD. This project responds to the critical need for leading
companies to step up and reach new levels of performance and impact
in order for the world to meet today's social, environmental and eco
nomic challenges. Participants will be challenged to implement the
United Nation's Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership, which
was developed "in close consultation with a large number of corporate
participants and stakeholders. The platform is designed to challenge
companies like Heineken to reach further, to experiment, to innovate,
and to share learnings - both successes and failures. Heineken is the
only alcohol company invited to join this important group.
