Visitors to the Foster's Music website in Finland were ask to vote on whether they would prefer to attend a gig featuring the Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys or Bullet For My Valentine at one of Europe's major concert halls. The Foo Fighters clinched the top spot with 53 per cent of the votes. Winners were drawn at random in early April from all entries received. "Foster's wants to offer Finns unique music experiences," says Pekko Koski, Foster's Brand Manager for Hartwall. "The Foo Fighters' mega concert at London's enormous Wembley Stadium was certainly an unforgettable experience. A promotion of this size hasn't been seen in Finland for a long time." The Foo Fighters, founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, is one of the world's most successful rock bands, selling over 20 million albums worldwide and taking home four Grammy Awards. The competition is the world's most celebrated club football tournament. The final was held at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex in Moscow, Russia on May 21. Manchester United beat Chelsea only after an exhilarating penalty shoot-out. Heineken invited more than 1,000 trade partners and consumers to Moscow, offering them exclusive VIP treatment throughout the final match. Guests received a ticket to the big game, as well as invitations to a range of pre and post- match activities hosted by Heineken. They were also granted access to the stadium's exclusive Champion's Village. In addition to all on-site activities, the Heineken Star Final allowed football fans who couldn't make it to see the game at a Grand Safari location just outside Johannesburg. The event gave 150 fans from around the world the chance to watch the final live from beautiful Johannesburg in South Africa. Last year, Heineken hosted the Star Final in an exclusive location in Iceland. In May this year, Heineken renewed its contract with UEFA to sponsor the UEFA Champions League for a further 3 years.
