68th International Hahnenkamm Race
Refurbished head office opened
World of Heineken 37 Winter 2007/2008
The Tyrolean town of Kitzbühel in the heart of
the Austrian Alps staged the 68th International
Hahnenkamm Race in the third week of January.
A crowd of over 100,000 came to watch the
spectacular three-day event at the so-called
"Streif", one of the most popular competitions
on the Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit. The
world's best ski racers gathered for the most
challenging competition of the season.
Brau Union Austria - the local subsidiary
of Heineken - once again supported the
Hahnenkamm Race, and Gösser was the official
beer of the weekend. In addition to branded
boarding on the slopes and a magnificent
hot air balloon, Gösser also hosted a special
VIP area. Moreover, Brau Union launched a
promotional campaign in the lead up to the
event, featuring a TV commercial called "Be a
Streif-Winner".

Heineken's renovated head office building on the
Tweede Weteringplantsoen in Amsterdam was
officially opened in October last year by Charlene de
Carvalho-Heineken, daughter of Alfred Heineken, in the
presence of Mrs Heineken.
Heineken's head office has undergone a complete
renovation over the past two years, and has been
furnished with a modern and fresh décor.
At a special opening ceremony hosted in the reception
of the stylish new office Heineken CEO Jean-Frangois
van Boxmeer spoke of the rich history of the building,
which has been in the Heineken family for generations.
"Built by Gerard Adriaan Heineken in 1891, the villa on
the Tweede Weteringplantsoen was the family home
until 1924, when the building was sold to the company.
Since then, additional properties on either side of the
villa have been purchased to house Heineken's head
office.
