THE WORLD OF HEINEKEN
Organisors of the UEFA Champions League are equally enthusiastic about
the new deal. "This renewed support and contribution of Heineken towards
European football is highly valued," said UEFA Chief Executive Lars-Christer
Olsson at the official handover and signing ceremony in Istanbul. "The
continuing partnership with Heineken for an additional three seasons of the
UEFA Champions League combines the excitement and success of the
competition with the values of this major international brand."
Heineken is the first major sponsor to officially sign up for the 2006 to
2009 seasons. While financial figures for the sponsorship deal have not
been released, Heineken says that part of its additional €100 million
marketing investment, announced early in 2005, will be used to fund the
marketing program to activate the sponsorship. Looking ahead to the
upcoming UEFA Champions League football season, Heineken and football
fans alike have every reason to celebrate!
