challenging in particular were not conveyed strongly enough. We
feel we are no longer as distinctive as we were, one of the reasons
being that other producers have also adopted the Thirst concept
and are also looking for local talents in the dance scene," admits
Linda Berkel.
That is the reason why Heineken will be adding a number of
innovative, surprising and challenging elements to Thirst 3, which
will kick off in the spring of 2005. Linda: "In our analysis the
on-stage appearance of DJs is not in itself sufficient to maintain a
firm link with the target group. We are therefore planning to add
some elements of live action. We have asked the DJs to bring
something extra to Thirst 3 in the form of a live performance.
We already have some experience with Miss Motif, discovered at
the Thirst contest in Ireland, who is herself a singer. She has
meanwhile formed her own group." Freek de Wette says he is
proud of the success that Miss Motif has enjoyed thanks to Thirst.
"She is a great example of the success that Thirst can bring.
After Miss Motif was discovered at Thirst, the producer and
DJ Danielle Davoli developed her talents further; she toured the
world with Thirst and she now has a recording contract and has
formed her own band. That's how fast it can all go."
