Celebration
130 athletes, including several Olympic medallists. And naturally,
cold and fresh Heineken beer was served after the event. A similar
test took place in the Pankritio Stadium, where the friendly soccer
match Greece - Switzerland was held on 31 March. Heineken employ
ees used David Dispense Systems to serve a fresh draught beer.
The Heineken staff in the Pankritio Stadium is coached by the
Heineken Operations Team. This highly professional group of
people deals with logistic and distribution issues in order to
ensure a sufficient supply of cold Heineken for all spectators.
It takes extensive planning to get all the draught installations
up and running and prepare the bar staff to serve the crowd a
fresh Heineken beer in 38 venues.
The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens are more than a sporting
event. As long as a year ago the Organising Committee has
organised events that are indirectly linked with the Games
themselves. Musical events were held in four big cities in Greece
and Heineken was present, creating a festive mood. In addition,
that Heineken organised several art exhibitions, one starting in
June last year in the conference centre of Athens 2004. At the
venue 37 paintings portraying the 28 Olympic sports are on
display.
Pushing yourself to the limit, trying to be faster and better, to win
that gold medal. That is what it's all about for the athletes at the
Olympic Games and the same approach applies to Heineken.
Heineken shares the athletes' passion for achieving their goals
seeking to set for new records. Once every four years athletes
from around the globe unite and celebrate the Games. What better
way to celebrate that unity than with Heineken?
