Warsaw, Amsterdam, Athens, Lebanon, Zürich, Budapest
and Stockholm.
The reactions from the various countries have all been full of
admiration. A local journalist who attended the Thirst event in
Santiago, Chile: "I'm going to watch Shakira tomorrow night - but
I have no clue how she will give me the same energy that tonight
has given me. Nothing like this has happened before in Chile."
The manager of a club in Ireland where Thirst was staged was
genuinely amazed. "It's been the first time in twelve years of
running live venues and bars that people have been queuing to
thank me, rather than me thanking them for attending."
From a commercial and marketing viewpoint, too, Thirst is an out
right success. Jeff Povol of Heineken Puerto Rico: "More Heineken
has been sold tonight than at any other Heineken one-night event."
The Heineken senior brand manager in Singapore, Chris Chan, was
particularly pleased about the branding of the event. "Walking
through the venue, there can be no doubt in anyone's mind who
is releasing Thirst..."
The Thirst tour in its current format will end in September 2003,
but therq will be a new and updated follow-up. One thing is certain
about thffformat of the new tour: searching for and presenting
new talent will remain a key feature. If you want to keep up to date
