With effect from April 25th, 2002, Anthony Ruys is Chairman of
the Executive Board of Heineken N.V. In that capacity he
succeeds Karei Vuursteen, who has left to join Heineken Holding.
A talk with Mr Ruys about vitality, sustainability and having a
beer in a pavement café after a hard day's work.
Anthony Ruys (1947) was appointed as Member of the Executive
Board of Heineken N.V. in 1993. Prior to that he worked for Unilever.
In 1996 he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board
and at the end of last year it was announced that on April 25th,
2002, he would be succeeding Karei Vuursteen as Chairman.
