HEINEKEN EXPORT GROUP
FINDS NEW OFFICE AT SCHIPHOL
A firm tug on the bell by
Executive Board chairman
K. Vuursteen signalled the
official opening of the new
home of the Heineken
Export Group early in June
this year. Six floors in a
tower block of the World
Trade Centre at Schiphol
Airport are now bustling
with export activities.
The opening of the new office has
brought an end to the many decades
of separation between the
Rotterdam-based Export Transport
Department plus accounting and the
export managers in Amsterdam. The
premises at Crooswijksesingel in
Rotterdam and at Amsterdam's
Weteringschans have meanwhile
been vacated. "By working together
in this dynamic location we'll be bet
ter able to achieve our ambitious
objectives", says Export Director
Frank van der Minne.
By integrating its export activi
ties, Heineken Export is responding
to the increasingly international
scale of Heineken's operations. From
their base in the modern office near
Schiphol the export managers will be
better equipped to keep pace with
the growth of Export in the years
ahead. Located at Holland's main
international airport, the office also
offers an ideal meeting place for the
export managers, who are stationed
in all corners of the globe. The office
has extensive conferencing facilities
and is equipped with the very latest
communication technology.
BENEFITS
Centralising the activities of Export
automatically implies a strong
improvement in efficiency. "This
integration offers a lot of organisa
tional benefits", says Mr Van der
Minne. "Communication, reaching
agreement with each other, finding
solutions and taking decisions fast.
The integration will allow all of this
to take place faster and better. This
working environment will motivate
us to deliver good results. The quali
ty of our products and our customer
service can now only go one way:
and that's up."
Mr Vuursteen also had words of
praise for Export: "Heineken is the
pride of the whole of Holland and
Holland plays an important role in
the brand's heritage. That is largely
due to the work done by Export.
From your base in Schiphol our
export performances can only get
better."
Export Director Frank van der Minne is
convinced that decision-making will take
place faster.
Karei Vuursteen, Chairman of the Executive Board, rings the bell for
the first round at Heineken Export's new home.
