Two thousandth Export Meeting
French Navy visits Holland
ifteen French
marine officers
recently visited the
Netherlands as guests of
Heineken Duty Free and
our French operating com
pany, Frangaise de Bras
serie. The officers, headed
by purchasing director,
General Combes, are
responsible for buying in
provisions for the naval
bases in Cherbourg, Brest,
Lorient, Rochefort and
Toulon.
One of their ports of call
during their two-day visit
was the Heineken brewery
in Den Bosch. The above

brewing hall. Front row

Once a week repre
sentatives from all
Heineken depart
ments involved in export
activities get together in
Zoeterwoude to discuss day
to day problems and sug
gest solutions. Some
months ago the 2000th
Export Meeting was held.
In the course of all
those years the meeting
has grown to become a fac
tor that binds the various
departments together.
Export Director Frans van
der Minne: 'Marketing
stimulates production and,
conversely, production
makes sure that marketing
keeps both feet on the
ground'.
Joint efforts are made to
find solutions, for instance
for problems such as legal
regulations for new texts
on packs, but also prob
lems that have been iden
tified by agents in the
various markets.
