America region were in
vited by Heineken's export
office in Curasao to get
together for the first Distri
butors Conference held
earlier this year.
During the conference
representatives from Aruba,
Bermuda, Curasao, the
Cayman Islands, French
Guyana, Martinique, Mexi
co, Puerto Bico, St. Maar
ten, the U.S. Virgin Islands,
St. Barth, Tortola and Ven
ezuela talked about trends
in the beer market, the
position of Heineken beer
in the Caribbean and
world-wide, advertising
and promotions, and
Heineken presentations in
Puerto Rico and St. Maar
ten. Heineken participants
from Holland were Export
Director Frans van der
Minne, Regional Export
Manager Kees Brandt and
Rien Weststrate, from
Advertising.

It's an idea that rings
like a bell: advertising
for Heineken in phone
booths. You can see posters
like this on Tenerife (Ca
nary Islands). The simple,
but effective slogan 'See
you later' fits in well with
the location of the adver
tising. The slogan has
deliberately been kept in
English to underline the
international character of
Heineken beer.
