prietor: these were Joe Bourke's jobs be
fore he established the brewing industry
in Bapua New Guinea at the end of the
nineteen-forties. In his position as hotel
owner he thought that the market for beer
in his country could be bigger than it was.
Only a few places served draught beer and
all beer brands were imported from other
countries, mainly from Australia.
