ATTRACTIVE NEW HEINEKEN HEINEKEN MAINTAINS
HOLIDAY DISPLAY FOR '78 STRONG SALES GAINS
The Heineken Holiday Display
Unit for '78 has a gold foil back
ground to capture attention, and
frames the new "Dutch Cheese" ad
vertisement in an attractive "Bow
Window" design to give a three-di
mensional look to the display. Reds
8c greens, holly, berries 8c bows compli
ment the holiday theme, and the new
piece can be utilized as a Window or
Counter Display, or as a Display Piece
on mass Case Stackings.
For the first nine months of 1978,
imports show a gain of 19,765,874 gal
lons (32%) over the same period in
1977as reported by the National As
sociation of Alcoholic Beverage Im
porters in Washington, D.C.
The imported "Big Three" held
their previous positions for this per
iod. The Netherlands was again the
leader with a 43 percent gain to 36,-
953,233 gallons. The number two slot
was held by Canadaup 26 percent
for a total of 22,580,987 gallons. Ger
many was up 10 percent for a total
of 9,405,032 gallons.
It is to be noted that the great ma
jority of the Netherlands figures rep
resent Heineken, while the other
country's figures represent a wide var
iety of brands. Thus Heineken Hol
land Beer"The #1 Imported Beer
in the U.S.A."continues its leader
ship by a wide margin, especially in
comparison to any other single im
ported brand.
With the "Big Three" accounting
for 68,939,252 gallons, the remaining
12,996,508 gallons are accounted for
by all the other importing countries.
HEINEKEN TASTES TREMENDOUS
AT LEADING RETAIL STORE
A Heineken-tasting promotion, held
at the Brown Derby Store #17 in
Springfield, Mo., was a tremendous
success. The promotion was high
lighted by the 100-case display shown
in the top picture, and serviced from
a cooler by personnel shown in the
bottom picture. Consumers found that
the taste makes Heineken "America's
#1 Imported Beer".
MIAMI, FLA., Six trucks were added to the
Heineken Wholesalers Delivery Fleet by VMCO
distributor Universal Brands, Inc. in the im
portant Miami resort area. Distributor manage
ment representatives and VMCO's Gary Hege-
dorn, Division Manager; and Edward Abdella,
Sales Representative, inspected the handsome
fleet. These vehicles provide excellent adver
tising coverage in an important market for
"America's #1 Imported Beer", supplementing
regular national and local advertising.
