As reported by the National Asso ciation of Alcoholic Beverage Import ers, malt beverage imports declined 3% during the eight month period January through August '72 from the same '71 period. However, imports from the Netherlands increased during the same period. Of the three major exporting coun tries, the Netherlands took first place honors for the January-August period with a total of 6,305,079 gallons, a 7.8% increase over '71 figures. West Germany was second with 5,274,831 gallons, a 19% decrease from 1971.
