Heineken's Dutch Miss
Makes Debut
At New York Reception
Our President Visits
Pacific Coast Division
Miss Maria Verbunt was officially crowned the
Heineken's Dutch Miss by Mr. Leo van Munching and
Mr. Melchior J. Weymarshausen, Export Manager of the
Heineken's Breweries at a special reception given at the
new Summit Hotel in New York City on October 20th.
The timing of the appointment of the Heineken's
Dutch Miss coincided with Mr. and Mrs. Weymarshausen's
visit to the U.S.A. Mr. Sibe Minnema, Area Export Mana
ger of the Heineken's Breweries was also on hand during
his brief visit to New York after a much more extended
trip throughout other parts of the Western hemisphere.
The selection of the Heineken's Dutch Miss was made
after a thorough search by the Public Relations firm of
Don Simmons 8c Associates for an attractive, well-spoken
girl here in America with a Dutch heritage.
Miss Verbunt who now resides in Port Washington
came here from Holland only three years ago. She is an
attractive brunette and a credit to the class image of the
Heineken's brand in the United States. Miss Verbunt
represented Heineken's at the National Beer Wholesalers
Convention in October and the National Hotel Expo
sition at the New York Coliseum in November.
The reception at the Summit Hotel was attended by
members of the press and the Eastern sales staff of Van
Munching 8c Co.
Mr. Leo van Munching revisited our West Coast
offices last month to review the progress made in what is
now the second largest Heineken's market in the U.S.
