5D IN CARIBBEAN TERRITORIES A Typical Scene of Nassau and the Bahamas Mrs, Winnie Sandsthe General Manager of Burns House Limited, our distributor, amidst a native scene and ever present American tourist so do the many other cruise ships that arrive there. We are indeed very proud of our position in the Bahamas. PUERTO RICO Swinging southeast, we land in Puerto Rico, the small island country of many great opportunities. We are, aside from one other brand, the only European brewed beer on the Islands and lead ing by far. Here we are faced with severe com petition, not only from local brewers, but also from some of the large American shipping breweries. In spite of that, we have built up a very attractive volume of business and our agents, Messrs. Mendez Co., Inc., are doing an admirable job. There is a substantial volume of busi ness from the Armed Forces stationed, or on maneuvers around Puerto Rico. But what pleases us is that in every one of the beautiful hotels, restaurants and clubs, there is Heineken's to welcome you any time your palate feels the urge of a thirst quencher! VIRGIN ISLANDS A half hour's flight on a small DC-? rings you to another paradise of sunshine ^-^nd flowers St. Thomas, the Virgin Is lands of the U.S.A. Here indeed, is a paradise Island in the sun and there is no doubt in our minds that the Islands of the U. S. Virgin Islands group will be the new world's Ischia or Capri, a chic torrid zone for winter visitors and other tropic lovers who have had the foresight to build homes along its ravishing shores. It was not so long ago that Heineken's generally, was rather difficult to obtain, in the Virgin Islands and it was up to us to see that the Heineken's account was entrusted to an active and well respected agent. Now, in the active hands of the St. Thomas Food Products Company, full distribution for Heineken's Beer has been accomplished not only in St. Thomas, but also in St. Croix and St. Johns Islands as well as the Tor tola group and other outer islands. With the fast growing number of resi dents and visitors, these Islands in the fu ture will become one of our staunchest Heineken's 'outposts" for the U.S. mar kets. CUBA There has been over the years a steady, -although limited flow of Heineken's ship ments into Cuba. Unfortunately, in re cent months due to the internal unrest and upheaval, there has been a sharp reduction, but we hope that with peace and calm returned to beautiful Cuba Heineken's will once again be enjoyed by the large number of tourists as well as the residents. We feel strongly that Cuba offers an excel lent potential for the sale and growth of Heineken's. HAITI AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC We are glad to include both Haiti and the Dominican Republic as U.S. outposts for Heineken's. Both entertain a growing tourist trade. Permanent residents of the Islands are also getting more and more acquainted with the name and fame of Heineken's. We strongly believe that here too, there are great potentials for a grow ing export market for Heineken's and we feel certain that every advantage of the situation will be taken by the local agents. JAMAICA As we land in Jamaica, B.W.L, even before leaving the Airport, we spot a nice attractive sign reading that familiar name! Everywhere we go, we find Heineken's well represented but especially at Mon- tego Bay, the fast growing, ultra colony with beautiful hotels, guest houses and villas as a readymade outlet for World's Finest Lager. Heineken's is very fortunate here too, in having an outstanding agent, J. Wray Nephew Ltd., the largest rum producers on the Islands and we are very happy to be associated in all of these Islands with agents of the caliber and standing of our Heineken's distributors. So you can see, from North to South, all along the East Coast, wherever Ameri can tourists travel or dwell, seek the sun and warm beaches, they will find the Heineken's sign to welcome them, making them feel right at home. Then, when all these thousands and thousands of tourists and travellers return to their homesteads in the United States, wherever that may be, they will remember and talk about the fact that wherever the sun shines, there is Heineken's to quench their thirst.
