COL. George W. Blakeley and Mrs.
Jonni Blakeley, publishers of "The
Server", a prominent beverage industry
trade paper, enjoyed traditional Holland
hospitality and saw the booming Heine-
ken's expansion during their recent trip
to Holland.
The term "the happy Heineken's fam
ily" was overheard many times and the
Blakeleys were greatly impressed with the
efficiency and skill of the Heineken's
organization and technical knowledge.
The Blakeleys witnessed the brewing
process from beginning to end and were
able to study at first hand the care and
patience with which Heineken's is brewed.
Following a visit to the Brewery in
Amstérdam and the Export Brewery in
Rotterdam, the Blakeleys were treated to
a tour of the new Brewery at's Bosch, 50
miles south of Rotterdam. They were high
in their praise of the modern equipment
and excellent facilities of this new Brew
ery which is in its final stages of con
struction. The new plant is being built
at a cost of more than $15,000,000 justi
fied by Heineken's amazing sales volume
growth not only in the United States
but throughout the world.
The Blakeleys devoted several columns
in "The Server" issue of September 9,
1957 to their visit to the Heineken's
Breweries which they describe as an un-
forgetable experience.
