Guinness Anchor Berhad in Malaysia once again
realized higher sales volumes.
Our operating company in Indonesia was able
to increase its sales volume and market share.
Both the Bintang brand and Guinness produced
under licence contributed here. The new brewery
in Sampang Agung on East Java was completed
and has now taken over beer production from the
old brewery in Surabaja. The new brewery has a
capacity of one million hectolitres. Although the
result improved in local currency, the outcome
was considerably lower after translation into
guilders, due to the decline of the Indonesian
rupiah. We increased our participation in
Multi Bintang to 79%.
Our brewery on New Caledonia had an
excellent year.
Sales of Heineken beer brewed locally under
licence on Tahiti, continued to grow strongly.
n were up by 5.3% to N LC 1,584 million.
