Despite the difficult economic situation our exports showed a sizeable growth, though the volumes are still modest. In addition, we are seeking participations in attractive brewery groups in East European countries in order to obtain a strong local position. In connection with this, agreement was reached in principle in March 1994 on the acquisition of a 24.9% interest in the Polish brewery company Zywiec, through participation in a share issue. Zywiec has three breweries with a total capacity of 1.1 million hectolitres.
