On the basis of the results of the investigations, measures to improve the
existing situation are being tested.
The first phase of the harmonization of terms of employment for the personnel
of our wholesalers was carried out.
The terms of employment for the employees of Wijnhandel Reuchlin B.V. are
now the same as those for the other Netherlands personnel of the Group.
In our previous Annual Report we mentioned the future concentration of the
Nation-wide Commercial Departments at Zoeterwoude. A transfer arrangement
was arrived at in consultation with the union representatives of our employees.
The jobs for the salary groups just above the limit of the Collective Labour
Agreement were reclassified on the basis of evaluation. The jobs of the personnel
employed in the Netherlands are now included in appurtenant salary groups on
the basis of classification systems. For the middle-category and higher jobs the
relationship between the individual work performance and the corresponding
remuneration has been maintained.
Consultation on a multitude of subjects took place in a constructive atmosphere
with the Central Staff Council and with the eight local Staff Councils. We take
a very positive view of the openness in the discussions, the clarity with which
standpoints are defined and the care with which the interests of the enterprise
and personnel aspects are weighed.
As far as we are concerned, there is therefore no reason for a change in the
present legislation.
