FAR EAST - The course of affairs at the brewery in Surabaya shows a favourable trend. The improved economic situation of Indonesia gives grounds for optimism. The results of the seven breweries belonging to Interbra S.A., of Brussels (established in Congo-Kinshasa, Congo-Brazzaville, Rwanda and Burundi) are a source of satisfaction. It was decided to set up a new establishment, namely at Mbandaka. Construction has been started. The brewery in Angola is doing well. SOUTH AFRICA Despite a rise in the sales of Whitbread South Africa (Pty) Ltd., Johannesburg, it is still not possible to say that the course of affairs is entirely satisfactory.
