Col. (ret.) Osei Owusu and his wife, visitors from Ghana, pictured
at the Dutch village the "Zaanse Schans" where not only old mills
are preserved but also dozens of houses in the typical old style.
Col. Owusu is the manager of Paramount Distillery, an affiliated
company of Heineken's wholly owned subsidiary Duncan,
Gilbey and Matheson, International Distillers, of London.
In October 1982 two Executive Directors of Oriental Breweries in
South Korea, accompanied by their staff, paid a fortnight's visit to
Europe to make an in-depth acquaintance with the Heineken
group of companies. During their stay with Heineken they visited
the group's Dutch, French and Greek subsidiaries.
Heineken's host, Harry van Boxtel (centre, with bottle) recently reached retirement age.
Over the past 15 years thousands of guests were welcomed by him and shown round our
breweries and round Holland. Obviously, a big retirement party was held for Harry, and
many friends came along from far and near to say their goodbyes. The CONTACT
picture above, however, was taken during the farewell party staged by "his" own Export
Department. Dressed in Dutch national costume and surrounded by his colleagues, Harry
and his wife Troudje here take on the role of "tourist of honour", the same role played
by so many of Harry's guests when he hosted them around Heineken and Holland.
On Monday 20 September 1982 His
Excellency Jibrin D. Chinade, Ambassador
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the
Netherlands, paid a visit to the Heineken
brewery and the facilities of Heineken
Technisch Beheer at Zoeterwoude. From
left to right this photo shows His Excellency
Jibrin D. Chinade, Mr. J. W. den Hond,
Regional Coordinating Director Africa,
and Mr. Ephraim A. Bassey, Counsellor
for Consular Matters of the Nigerian
Embassy, entering the main office building
at Zoeterwoude.
