The Salon International de I'Agriculture has
for many years been staged in the Paris Pare
des Expositions in the early spring.
The exhibition covers an immense area
some 200,000 square metres in all and is
divided into two main groups presenting
agricultural products from all parts of the
French provinces as well as other parts of
Europe.
There are competitions for all classes of
cattle, poultry and other livestock and the
display of agricultural machinery is among the
most impressive to be seen at any European
fair. This year the Salon attracted almost one
million visitors, mainly French, and exactly
3728 exhibitors. These included the Amstel
agent in France, La Bière Pousset SA, whose
entry has become as much a tradition as the
Salon itself. The picture shows the Amstel
stand, staged in the Dutch Pavilion in colla
boration with the Dutch Ministry of Agricultu
re. It proved a popular haven for slightly jaded
visitors pausing for refreshment before
resuming their tour of the vast exhibition area.
Le Salon International de I'Agriculture se tient
depuis de nombreuses années dans le Pare
des Expositions de Paris au début du
printemps.
vaste exposition.
