A recent licensing contract signing - with the A. S. Hansa Bryggeri, Norway.

der Werf, Chairman International Division, Heineken, T. Eltvik, Marketing Manager Hansa,

Heineken.
The possibility of local production of
Heineken beer to be marketed under the
brand name is attracting the attention of
more and more breweries in all parts of
the world. Their interest is a tribute to the
company's worldwide reputation and
Heineken is in many cases glad to come
to working arrangements. Enquiries
from breweries abroad are convincing
proof of the great and still growing de
mand for the Heineken product.
At the same time, it is essential that the
quality of Heineken beer should be
maintained and the company is obliged
to set high standards for the way in
which its beer is made in other countries.
For this reason there is a technical pro
viso quite apart from the financial and
commercial aspects which ensures
that before such a contract is signed
there is close collaboration between the
company's technical experts and those
of the prospective partner regarding the
method of beer production. There are
also regular quality checks after the beer
has been launched.
Only by observing these precautions is
the company able to guarantee that a
glass of Heineken beer anywhere in
the world is of the quality that con
noisseurs have come to expect.

On procédé éga-
A new trophy, the Gombert Gold Chal
lenge Cup, awarded for the best beer
sampled in comparative taste tests, was
won by the Anchor Brewery, Singapore,

(Leopard Brewery Ltd.); it was to be
awarded to the brewery whose beer
was chosen as the best tasted at sub
