1RÉES
The Communauté de Travail des
Brasseurs du Marché Commun
(C.B.M.C.), the European Branch
Organisation of the breweries in the
E.E.C., has appointed Jonkheer O. A.
E. E. L. Wittert van Hoogland, Chair
man of the Board of Directors of
Heineken's Bierbrouwerij Maat
schappij N.V., its president for a
period of three years as from 1st
July 1970.
The C.B.M.C. was established to
function as a mouthpiece for the
brewing industries of the E.E.C.
countries in their approach to the
E.E.C. Commission. It serves all the
interests that the European brewers
have in common and that fall within
the framework of European integrat
ion. The period that Mr. Wittert is in
office will be a very important one
in view of the negotiations with
England, Ireland and Denmark, all of
which have powerful brewing indus
tries, and all of which wish to enter

For the second time in Heine-
ken export history, the turnover
of one market has reached one
million cartons in one year. The
excellent and hard-working or
ganisation of our agent Moét
Chandon, together with all its
distributors and clients, has
reached this landmark. As a
result France is second only to
the United States as a Heine-
ken importer. The consumption
per head of Heineken in Fran
ce at the moment is even
slightly higher than in the Uni
ted States. We salute our very
good friends in 'la douce Fran

Unis. Toutes nos félicitations a nos trés
bons amis de la douce France.
