Environmental performance plants the thermal energy consumption has remained unchanged at 33 MJ/hl (target 2000:30 MJ/hl). The targets have not been reached. The specific thermal energy con sumption of the maltings has increased with 14% from 2771 to 3152 MJ/ton (target 2000: 2990 MJ/hl). This is mainly the result of the contribution of the new maltings, which have a high thermal energy consumption. Complaints In 2000 less complaints have been received. The number has decreased from 103 in 1999 to 71 in 2000. The reduction of complaints in Marseille (France) from 32 to 12 especially contributes to this. The large number of complaints in 1999 was caused by odours from the waste water treatment plant. In 2000 modifications have been exe cuted which resulted in a decrease in complaints. Targets For the coming period (2001-2003) Fleineken has set targets for water, electricity and thermal energy consumption for breweries, maltings and softdrink production plants, which aim at a reduction of these consumptions. The targets and data can be found in the table on page 2. UPDATE HEINEKEN ENVIRONMENT REPORT UPDATE 2000
